Mössbauer experiments are described which were designed to investigate the lattice and electronic properties of superconducting (Pd₀.₉₉Sn₀.₀₁)D₀.₉₂ (Tc = 7.01°K) alloys. In particular, the ¹¹⁹Sn vibrational motion, <v²> and <x²>, was monitored as a function of temperature and the moments of the phonon spectra obtained. The lattice dynamics of the ¹¹⁹Sn impurity probe in the host Pd lattice are compared to expected changes in the Pd lattice upon the addition of deuterium. These Mossbauer results are compared with those of a previous study of non-superconducting Pd-Sn alloys, and also with the results of a study of superconducting Pd-Sn-H alloys.
