In order to become more familiar with costs of the techniques and equipment used in plant synecology, this writer chose to make a vegetational analysis of the tress of the Lorado Taft Field Campus. It is desirable in such an analysis to include the ecological factors that influence the vegetation considered in the analysis. The purpose of this study are: 1. To determine, by means of the quadrat method, the dominant species of trees on the hilltops of the Lorado Taft Field Campus. 2. To determine, by means of the transect method, the species of brown on the east-west-north-south-facing slopes, and the valley floor of the Lorado Taft field campus. 3. To relate the above to their environment and to establish the types of ecological significance in their different environments. 4. To give the author more experience in using the two ecological methods described. Since the field yefor this study was limited to eight weeks, the investigation was donfined to the tree strata composed of individual trees taller than on and one-half meters in height. Field data for this study were obtained during the months of June and July, 1952.en_US
