Optical density gradients measured on a liquid-liquid interface

There are two areas in analytical chemistry which have yet to be studied extensively. These areas are the study of macromolecules and the study of surfaces. This thesis discusses research done on an interfacial surface to discover how the interface reacts when potential charge is applied to it. The thesis presents a new optical method modification used to study the rate of diffusion in two mutually immiscible liquids. The liquids require electrolytes in them to make the study possible. The results indicate that the rate is concentration as well as current dependent.
