Aim: The following study aimed to understand how age influences self-report measures of quality-of-life. Ultimately, this will help interpret quality-of-life measures in younger and older adults. It will also clarify the relation among age, quality-of-life, and the perception of swallowing impairment in individuals with dysphagia. Hypothesis: Younger cohorts expenencmg adverse swallowing conditions will be more likely to report lower perceived general quality-of-life on self-report measures of swallowing impairment when compared to older cohorts as a result of health optimism.
