MetadataShow full item record
The purpose of this study was to develop deep tests for two syntactic structures (the copulas "is"/"are" and the auxiliary "is" + the progressive "ing"). In order to determine which test items to include in the final versions of the tests, 28 children were used as subjects. An item-by-item analysis revealed the percentage of targeted responses made by the children for each item. The deep test assessing the copula structures contains 25 items; the deep test assessing the auxiliary structure contains 20 items. The deep tests were designed to determine the child's consistent use of the syntactic structures, and as an aid toward the planning and implementation of therapy.
