dc.description.abstract Discussions during a three-year period with some sixty plant managers of a major industrial corporation (in the course of daily business) confirmed the need for a system of "culture checks" being developed prior to the building of the communication strategy for a given plant. The premise for development of such a system is this: every plant culture is different, and each one requires a "unique" strategy. As a result, culture change managers (the ones who understand, and want to develop tailored strategy) must identify and address certain key elements at their respective plant locations. It is, in effect, a culture check which must be carried out by the plant manager and his or her immediate staff group. This study had two purposes, and two outcomes: 1. The development of four modules of Communication Strategy Process (CSP), including illustrated models and concepts (the culture check format); 2. A specific focus on trust as an underlying element of effective communication, including the development of a trust research strategy and survey instrument scale. en_US
