A finite element method applied in analysis of one- and two-dimensional discrete plane structures

A finite element method is utilized to analyze one- and two-dimensional discrete plane structure problems. The FEM formulation used are based on the principle of minimum potential energy. A new element of truss/frame has been introduced, providing moment release at any given end. In addition, the feature of temperature effect, resulting in an internal force in an element, has been incorporated. Furthermore, the boundary constraint system has been introduced. Finally, several examples are given as case studies to validate the computer program.
